In 2021, GameUp Africa launched with a mission to provide aspiring African game developers with access to skills, mentorship, and opportunities to break into the global games industry. This year, we celebrate five impactful years of building talent and growing a vibrant pan-African community of game developers.

Five Years of Impact
Since the launch of GameUp Africa, we’ve trained over 1,500 aspiring creators from across the continent, equipping them with the technical skills, creative tools, and industry mentorship needed to break into the global games industry. Our alumni have gone on to work at leading game studios, launch their projects, and build successful freelance careers.
We’ve now expanded beyond the boot camp with GameUp Africa Game Jams, community meetups, and the Elite Track, creating a year-round platform that supports your growth at different stages.
