Our monthly game developer meetup is just around the corner, and you don’t want to miss it! This event is a gathering for game developers, artists, designers, animators, storytellers, UI/UX designers, and anyone involved in the creative industry. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or aspiring to break into the game industry, this meetup offers a valuable opportunity.
Mark your calendars for August 21st, 2024, and join us in person at CcHUB in Yaba, Lagos, or virtually if you’re located outside the city!
What to expect?
Level up your game development skills with insight and tips from top industry experts! This month, we’re diving into procedural generation with Antonio Watson, a game designer at Blizzard Entertainment, and getting a sneak peek at Daniel Macharia’s new game, ‘Nairobbery’ from ChezaCheza studio.
Procedural generation is a game-changer in the industry that readily offers endless possibilities and unique experiences for your players. It’s the secret sauce behind many beloved games, as it is used to create dynamic environments, unpredictable challenges, and replay value that keeps players coming back for more! In this month’s Meet Up, you’ll get to learn procedural generation from Antonio, who is currently working on the award-winning Diablo IV and is an expert in seasonal (live service) content and dungeon design.
Daniel Macharia will unveil his latest game, Nairobbery. Nairobbery captures the city’s energetic spirit through feisty male and female characters. Experience the thrill of a classic beat ’em-up action as you fight your way through gangs and corruption. Daniel teaches a course on game design and development at the Africa Digital Media Institute and has published 4 games and comic books throughout his career.
